 Yearup Taos has partnered with Year Up, a national nonprofit with a Bay Area presence that provides urban youth, ages 18 to 24, with a one-year, intensive training program and internship with an IT focus. In an effort to supplement and better prepare students with in-demand skills; Taos delivers a 10 week Linux, Apache, MySQL and Python course aka LAMP stack, to incoming classes. At the end of each session the students are required to deliver a functional website that can perform transactions. The technical knowledge and skills acquired by the end of the series is a huge differentiator to internship providers as well as an unbelievable confidence builder for the students.

 Eastside For East Side College Preparatory School in Palo Alto, Taos participates in Take an East Sider to Work Day, a program that gives students in this underserved community the opportunity to shadow Taos IT professionals for a day to gain more of a practical understanding of business operations and STEM roles.
 SVLeadership We depend on a labor force that is grounded in math, science and engineering, and we support SVLG’s equation for recruiting and retaining talent in critical fields. Taos will continue to seek out solutions and partnerships that focus on building talent pipelines for highly skilled workers. We will also work with SVLG to ensure educators and training programs have the data and resources to incorporate relevant, in-demand skills into their curriculums.
