Ric Urrutia - CEO, Founder and Member Board of Directors

Ric Urrutia is the CEO and Founder of Taos. Since founding Taos in 1989, Ric has contributed to the direction, strategy, management, customer relationships, and business development of the company. As CEO, Ric makes it a point to be highly involved with developing and maintaining customer relations, listening carefully to client requirements, and then providing the leadership and direction to keep Taos service offerings at the forefront of the ever changing IT world. Under Ric's leadership, Taos has become one of the leading Bay Area professional IT consulting services companies, innovating solutions that sets it apart from all the others.

Ric's career in the technology industry spans the gamut of executive, sales, business development, and technical positions. Prior to founding Taos in 1989, Ric spent several years as a technical contributor and technical manager at several Silicon Valley start-ups and as an independent consultant. Ric holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences from Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala City. Ric grew up in Guatemala and Los Angeles and has lived in the Silicon Valley since 1980.

Jeff Lucchesi - COO and EVP

With over 30 years of experience in IT, Jeff Lucchesi is a proven and successful technology leader. He is a valued business partner with a track record of achieving results in positions of business critical responsibility.

Jeff possesses an impressive background of holding significant IT leadership positions. Currently, Jeff is heavily involved with Taos' Managed Services offering and lends his expertise to educate Taos clients searching for optimal managed services solutions. He is also spearheading the creation of a new Taos product offering for start-up companies. When not working within Managed Services, Jeff provides management consulting services through Taos' Office of the CIO (OCIO). His specialty within the OCIO practice is to investigate and make key recommendations in regards to the people, the processes and the technology that make up an IT organization. Through these engagements, Jeff has helped IT organizations throughout the Bay Area identify their problem areas and realize solutions, resulting in IT transformation in preparation for IPO, acquisition, globalization, etc.

Prior to Taos, Jeff served as CIO at BMHC, a public holding company which provides capital, management and administrative resources to its subsidiaries. As the SVP of Global Operations at Corio, Jeff was responsible for directing an organization of 180+ staff in the U.S. and India and for supporting over 100 clients using enterprise ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft and B to B apps). In this role, Jeff was accountable for both technical and functional areas of the applications, along with infrastructure components. It was at DHL, however, that Jeff first took on the role of CIO. His path was similar to that of many IT leaders in the Bay Area. Jeff was hired to DHL as the Director of Network Services, was promoted into the role of VP of Operations, was promoted into the role of VP of Applications, and, finally, was promoted to the role of CIO. During his 5 year tenure, Jeff managed everything from data centers to architecture to the development of DHL's Track and Trace system.

A former client of Taos, Jeff joined Taos in December 2009 and is currently the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Managed Services.

Mary Hale - CFO and EVP

Mary Hale is the Chief Financial Officer of Taos. Since joining Taos in 1997, Mary has played a key role in the development of the Company's administrative infrastructure and financial processes. As CFO, Mary is responsible for the financial, information technology, legal and human resource functions of the company.

Prior to her tenure at Taos, Mary held several financial management positions in the banking industry, most recently as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of Silicon Valley Bank, where she participated in streamlining the growing technology bank's accounting and financial reporting practices and technical infrastructure. Prior to Silicon Valley Bank Mary was with Cupertino National Bank and Plaza Bank of Commerce.

Mary began her career as a CPA for Deloitte in San Jose. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University, majoring in Accounting with a minor in Economics. Mary has also lived in Chicago, Detroit and Los Angeles.

Patty Shrum - VP of Support Services

Patty's genuine passion for excellence is a driving force behind delivering high quality service desk solutions at Taos’ Boise-based Service Center. Patty contributes over 15 years of experience in IT help desk and customer service solutions to the Taos team. She oversees the day-to-day operations ensuring all service levels are met and engagements are transitioned and executed seamlessly.

She began her IT career at Albertson’s as a Help Desk Specialist. She quickly worked her way through the management ranks and eventually became the Director of a 7x24x365 IT Service Desk center, which responded to over 18,000 calls weekly for 220,000 employees across the country. Over the course of her 22-year Albertson tenure, she also inherited a challenged Customer Service Desk, which serviced the company’s online shoppers. Within a year, Shrum turned the center around to a world-class service organization that tied for second place with Amazon for online shopping customer service. Shrum also received the CTO Award for Excellence in Execution.

Prior to Taos, Shrum worked as Building Materials Holding Corporation’s (BMHC) Manager of IT Client Services and Operations Level 2, servicing 126 remote locations and over 20,000 employees. She transformed the existing Help Desk from a corporate PC support desk, fielding less than 1,000 tickets per month, to a single point of contact Help Desk accountable for supporting 4,000+ PC’s, 300 Windows servers, Active Directory Security, and various retail and corporate applications.

Patty joined Taos in April 2009 and is based in Boise, ID.

Ryan Munson - VP of Infrastructure Services

Ryan provides clients with high-level expertise to continually improve clients’ operations and, ultimately, save them money. Ryan provides additional value to clients through his ability to measure service levels. He is able to take a mountain of ticket data, quantify it and turn it into the ability for Taos to make value driven decisions to help clients. On a monthly basis, he also goes into each clients’ environments and tries to find ways to improve or streamline their operations, formalize the data, package it up into a palatable initiative, demonstrate the value of the change and then help them implement it.

Before joining Taos, Ryan spent the past 10 years at Micron Technology where he worked his way up from a Database Administrator to a Business Process Architect. He gained valuable experience quantifying service levels based on business objectives and led enterprise class database operations and data management projects. Concurrent with his time spent at the Fortune 500 company, Ryan earned his MBA to complement his technology expertise with business acumen.

Ryan joined Taos in July 2009 and is based in Boise, ID.

Trish Palumbo - VP of Talent Management

Trish leads Taos' Talent Management organization which includes Recruiting, Staff Management and Practice Management. She is responsible for the identification, preservation and development of the Taos consultant community. In addition, she leads the quality control around customer satisfaction, key account programs and custom solutions.

Trish joined Taos in 1999 when she relocated to the Bay Area. Starting out in an HR role, Trish moved into a variety of roles over the next few years, including Recruiting and Staff Management and was the Engagement Manager for a large desktop outsource in 2003 for one of Taos' largest clients.

Prior to joining Taos, Trish held administrative roles at Salomon Brothers and Starwood Design Group and was in the field of social work in New York City holding roles at Bellevue Hospital and Covenant House. She holds a Bachelors in Psychology from Lemoyne College in Syracuse. Trish has lived in New York as well as California.

Alexis Tatarsky

Alexis Tatarsky - Founder and Member Board of Directors

Alexis is the Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Taos. Since founding Taos in 1989, Alexis has been instrumental in determining the direction, philosophy, and strategic development of the company. He has held various management and executive roles, and engages with key customers in flexibly adapting Taos' abilities to their needs.

Alexis holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from UC Berkeley. Prior to founding Taos in 1989, Alexis worked as a programmer at The Wollongong Group from 1983-86 where he was involved in implementing and porting Internet protocols and tools, and working on innovative implementations of Unix. After that, he spent three years consulting in a variety of capacities: implementing a PC-based editor for genetic sequence information for Intelligenetics, assisting a team at Hewlett-Packard transition to using C/Unix, developing QA programs for Apple's first implementation of Unix, and teaching classes for UC Santa Cruz Extension, De Anza College, and Xerox Corp. Alexis is originally from Capetown, South Africa and grew up in Berkeley, California, Taos, New Mexico, and western Colorado. When not working, Alexis is an avid cyclist, and serves as an advisor to or board member of various environmental and startup organizations.

Coco Brown - Member Board of Directors

Coco joined Taos in 1997 and served as the company’s President and COO from 2007 through the middle of 2012 and is currently a Shareholder and Director. During her tenure as President and COO, Coco was a key contributor to the evolution of the business and the development of Taos' three lines of business: Managed Services, Project and Advisory Services, and Interim Services. During her tenure with Taos, she helped ensure tremendous growth and diversity in the business, resulting in over 8000 engagements with over 1200 companies.

Coco has been an active participant in the IT community since joining Taos in 1997 where she has been a catalyst for bringing together Women in IT Leadership. She was recognized in 2010 by the Business Journal as one of the Silicon Valley’s top 100 Women of Influence.

Prior to joining Taos, Coco held a variety of individual contributor and management roles in companies including Wachovia Bank Card Services, Junten Incorporated, and NetFRAME. In these companies, her roles focused on ensuring the implementation and scalability of effective organizational structures and teams. Just prior to arriving in the Silicon Valley, Coco was an intern for the Chief Economic Advisor at the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. Coco holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
