Every applicant receives a final rating determined by a proprietary algorithm that analyzes key technical skills with personal expertise and organizational needs. Rating levels and depth are as follows:
Level Ⅰ – Novice
- Basic operational tasks
- Require guidance and direction
- Some formal technical training
Level Ⅱ – Intermediate
- Basic operational tasks
- Require guidance and direction
- Some formal technical training
Level Ⅲ – Advanced
- Complex tasks

Selecting the ABC Category
(General)
Level Ⅰ

Category A (35% – 50%)
Category B (51% – 75%)
Category C (76% – 100%)
These ABC categories are based on the Skills Matrix for each Practice
A – Would be someone who is junior in their rating level – scoring between 35% and 50% on the skills matrix.
B – Would be someone who is intermediate in their rating level – scoring between 51% and 75% on the skills matrix.
C – Would be someone who is senior in their rating level – scoring between 76% and 100% on the skills matrix.
Example: A level III A averages a knowledge level of at least 35% of the criteria contained in the level III section of any skills matrix. The average score is calculated by averaging the topic area ratings
NOTE: Topic areas do not carry the same weight for determining the average score. Refer to The TIV Rating System documentation for more information.
